Forget about the typical tourist attractions. This isn’t Mykonos, Santorini, or Paros. This is where the real beauty of Cyclades lies and that’s why Greeks love to keep it for themselves. Koufonisia are two small island formations nestled in the southern end of Cyclades. Imagine 3km of extended golden sand surrounded by the most pristine turquoise waters. The whole place feels like a vast beach waiting to hug you.
2. Serene & Safe
As one of the lesser-known destinations, Koufonisia still remains untouched and unspoiled. The island’s one and only settlement, Chorio or Chora, is perched with cobbled streets and whitewashed houses and follows its own quiet pace. This is where its 400 residents are living and where most of the local cafes & taverns can be found. You will never see someone in a hurry, or having to queue - unless it comes to its famous Greek souvlaki :)
3. An island on your feet!
You can literally walk the whole island in 2 hours and see it all. That means that you’re pretty autonomous to do your own thing and follow what your heart desires every single day. The island is there for you to be explored at your own pace, whether you want to find yourself swimming in a tiny bay, sunbathe on our private terrace or enjoy your book in one of the local coffee shops.
4. The Great Outdoors
It’s worth mentioning that most part of our retreat in Koufonisia takes place in big outdoor spaces and in the beautiful nature of the island. Our villas are widely spread and shaped by spacious terraces so it always feels like been outdoors. Our yoga shala is also outdoors & covered, surrounded by olive groves, orange trees & sweet lavender. Our activities are all happening by the sea, and the most exotic beach of the island is just a 15min walk from your doorstep :)
5. Wild & free in emerald waters
This island is the definition of heaven on earth in a miniature shape. The most remarkable thing is its moon-shaped rock formations that emerge from the sea and the glittery color of the waters. Our days here include endless beach hopping, bold diving, cave exploration, and an unforgettable sailing day following the paths of the pirates!
