Our first retreat of the season against all odds!

How it feels to retreat during these times & the healing power of the Greek islands!

Our winters are filled with the thought of reaching the islands, riding the summer and showing our guests the most well hidden beauties of Cyclades. Taking our summer away would have been unbearable, so we’re grateful that we managed to accomplished our first retreat in Koufonisia with the outmost care and joy.

All safety measures were taken and we knew that we were very well-prepared in all levels of hosting that was within our capacity. Our worry was now mostly lying on how this whole situation of uncertainty would affect our retreat feeling. If people will manage to relax and really let go.

Once more, we were amazed by the power of the group. The power of people coming together on a tiny Greek island with a common purpose: TO RETREAT. This intention alone was enough to create a special link. A link that when it blends with the salt and the sea, the movement of bodies in a common space and our love for providing the best of care to our people, becomes a bond.

We now know that the Greek islands hold a certain energy that can soothe, repair and heal. We also know that our retreats can provide this sacred space for healing to happen, no matter how hard life proves to be.

Koufonisia is the place that frees our hearts. The place where freedom is a given, barefoot a necessity and water our return into being.

If we wanted to wrap up this retreat into our highlights those would have been:

  • Terrace gatherings at dinner time and all the chats that follow until late night

  • The first class, feeling every bone under the Greek light & breathing deeply for the first time.

  • The island hopping day! Our captain and his co-captain girlfriend, reaching the shores of Schoinousa, counting all shades of blue and getting wet on the way back.

  • Fava beans from Schoinousa island with caramelised onions and basil

  • Esco’s delicious food & recipes

  • Our relaxing candlelit yoga class with Martina Sergi

  • Holding hands when jumping from The Pool
